NHL Scouting Combine Coming to Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY (WKBW) - Eyewitness Sports Anchor Shawn Stepner has learned the NHL and Buffalo Sabres are expected to announce tomorrow that the league's scouting combine will be held in Buffalo for multiple years starting in 2015.

The top draft eligible prospects will gather in Buffalo to interview with NHL teams and be put through various fitness exercises.

The Sabres and NHL have called a press conference for Monday at 1:00 p.m. for a "major announcement". Those expected at the press conference are senior executive vice president of NHL Hockey Operations Colin Campbell, Sabres president Ted Black, president of HARBORCENTER John Koelmel, president and CEO of Kaleida Health Jody Lomeo and Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown.
