HAMBURG, NY (WKBW) Buffalo Bills defensive tackle Marcell Dareus has had problems with the law this offseason.

Friday, Dareus was apparently drag racing alongside a black Camaro when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed into a tree at the Mongolian Buffet in Hamburg.

The accident happened around 3:15 Friday afternoon. Reportedly, the driver of the black Camaro is Bills linebacker Jerry Hughes.

Busy restaurant workers at the Mongolian Buffet saw the aftermath of the accident, and snapped a picture.

“Somebody struck the tree right in front of our building,” said Christopher Jones, restaurant manager at the Mongolian Buffet. “There are tire tracks everywhere.”

Dareus was taken to the Hamburg Police Department, fingerprinted and released with an appearance ticket.

He is charged with reckless endangerment, reckless driving and participating in an illegal speed contest.

“I am not a troubled guy,” Dareus said last week during Bills organized team activities. “I don’t cause any problems. I am just trying to have fun and be myself. If things happen, things happen.”

The crash is still being investigated by the Hamburg Police Department. Dareus is due in court June 17 and 10:00AM.
