Pittsford (WKBW) Running Back Fred Jackson returned to practice after missing a day with a leg injury but the Buffalo Bills had another veteran sidelined on Sunday.

Tight End Scott Chandler left practice with a groin injury and did not return. The injury leaves the Bills very thin at tight end with Tony Moeaki (hamstring) and Chris Gragg (Heat exhaustion) already watching from the sideline. Lee Smith and Dominique Jones were the only two players who finished practice at the position.

Bills WR Kevin Elliott also left practice on Sunday after suffering concussion like symptoms. The Bills did not reveal when the injury happened but Elliott was hit hard by Safety Jonathan Meeks during red-zone work on Sunday.

Other Notes -

-Long practices have been the norm at St. John Fisher College this summer. Sunday Head Coach Doug Marrone had his team on the field for close to three hours. The Preseason opener is now just a week away and Marrone is happy for the extra time.

"I'm thankful for another week of practice before we play", said Marrone on Sunday. "The preseason is a process to get yourself ready for the regular season. Like I said before I'm happy for these practices"

-Sunday was a "Red Zone" heavy day. The Bills did a ton of work inside the twenty and a couple of players continued to stand out.
Free Agent addition Mike Williams was fun to watch on Sunday.
The Buffalo native and Syracuse product made a couple of catches in the end zone where he was able to high point the ball. The QB would put it in a spot in the back corner where only Williams could get it, and the 6-2 wideout just went up and made the play.

-Chris Hogan continues to make his case for a roster spot. Hogan was targeted on numerous occassions from EJ Manuel and hauled in several catches on Sunday. Hogan just works at it. Every rep I watched he was all in on selling his route and getting open.

-The Bills are obviously hoping for big things from Stephon Gilmore in 2014 and Sunday the cornerback made a number of plays. Gilmore hauled in a pair of interceptions both in coverage of WR Sammy Watkins. Gilmore made a fantastic interception on one of the first plays of teamwork. He also picked off Manuel later in practice when he jumped the route to make the play.

-The Bills get back on the practice field at 8:00am on Monday.
