Orchard Park (WKBW) The Buffalo Bills kicked off NFL free agency by signing a pair of their own. The team announced on Tuesday that kicker Dan Carpenter and TE Mike Caussin have both re-signed with the team.
Carpenter confirmed on Tuesday that he has signed a four year deal with the Bills. The Montana product matched a Bills franchise record for field goals with 33 during the 2013 season. Carpenter originally joined the Bills as a free agent in September of 2013.
"It was a no brainer to come back to Buffalo", said Carpenter. "We were comfortable here and loved it here last year", Carpenter continued. "This is our core principal. To sign our own guys", said Bills GM Doug Whaley. "A guy that makes 33 of 36 field goals in that stadium (Ralph Wilson Stadium) made us very interested. Very happy to sign him to a long term deal", continued Whaley.
Caussin signed an undisclosed deal with the Bills. The tight end missed the last two seasons because of injury. Caussin made five catches for 41 yards in six games in 2011.
