Bills Run to Win over Jaguars

ORCHARD PARK, NY (WKBW) - The Bills kept their slim playoff hopes alive on Sunday with a 34-18 win over the Jacksonville Jaguars. Buffalo improves to 5-7, while Jacksonville falls to 2-10.

It was a heavy dose of the ground game that paced the Bills on a wet and rainy day at Ralph Wilson Stadium. Fred Jackson ran the ball 25 times for 109 yards. C.J. Spiller rushed 14 times gaining 77 yards. Spiller also had a 44 yard touchdown.

Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 9 passes on 17 attempts. He had a one-yard rushing touchdown in the first quarter. He also threw an 11 yard touchdown pass to Scott Chandler and a 13 yard touchdown pass to Stevie Johnson. Johnson later left the game with a hamstring injury.

Other injuries of note include a back issue with Leodis McKelvin, a knee injury to Eric Wood and an ankle injury to Chris Hairston.

Mario Williams registered a sack, forced fumble and fumble recovery on the same play in the second quarter. Alex Carrington had 1.5 sacks, Kyle Moore had a single sack, while Shawne Merriman had .5 sack.

The Buffalo defense held the Jacksonville run game to only 50 yards.

Josh Scobee's 36 yard field goal in the second quarter, Chad Henne's second quarter one-yard rushing touchdown, his fourth quarter 5 yard touchdown pass to Cecil Shorts, and Montell Owens' two-point conversion accounted for the Jaguars scoring.

Rian Lindell hit field goals of 29 and 50 yards for Buffalo.

The Bills host the St. Louis Rams next Sunday.
