Orchard Park (WKBW) The Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has placed DE Alex Carrington on Injured Reserve with a torn quadriceps tendon.

Carrington suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday's 27-20 loss to the New York Jets. He needed to be carted off the field at MetLife Stadium and will undergo surgery on Monday. "He's done everything we've asked him to do.", said Marrone. "It's tough. He's a great player and a great man."

The Carrington injury comes with the status of starting cornerback Leodis McKelvin also unclear. McKelvin suffered a hamstring injury early in the game on Sunday and did not return. Marrone said Monday he is unsure if the cornerback will be available for this weeks game against the Baltimore Ravens.

Mario Williams (ankle), Marcell Dareus (ankle) and C.J. Spiller (quad) are all expected to be "fine" according to Marrone.
