BUFFALO (WKBW) The lights were back on at the First Niagara Center, and hockey was back in Buffalo Friday night, as the Rochester Americans came to town to take on the Lake Erie Monsters.

The game set an attendance record for both the building and the Americans franchise, as the team played in front of more than 19 thousand people. For the hockey fans that came out, they left happy as Rochester took it to the Monsters, winning 4-1 over their division foe.

It was a big night for the Sabre turned Amerk Cody Hodgson, who tallied two goals on the night. Rochester added one from Mark Mancari and Nick Tarnasky, along with a solid performance from goaltender David Leggio.

The Americans return home to Rochester to play a true home game Saturday night against the Binghamton Senators.
