RALEIGH, NC (WKBW) - The Buffalo Sabres beat the Carolina Hurricanes on Sunday 5-3.
Tim Connolly opened the scoring for Buffalo in the first period.
The Sabres added four goals in the second period. Jochen Hecht tallied twice, while Toni Lydman and Tim Kennedy added the others.
Sergei Samsonov scored for Carolina to make the score 4-1 after two periods.
Brandon Sutter and Eric Staal scored in the third period.
Ryan Miller made 27 saves for Buffalo.
The Sabres host Montreal on Wednesday.
