St. Bonaventure to host WNIT game

ST. BONAVENTURE, N.Y. – The St. Bonaventure women’s basketball team learned it will make its second postseason berth in program history as the Bonnies host the Robert Morris Colonials in the first round of the Women’s National Invitation Tournament (WNIT) on Thursday, March 18 in the Reilly Center. Game time will be announced Tuesday.

St. Bonaventure finished its season with a 22-9 overall record for its second consecutive 20-win season under 10th-year head coach Jim Crowley. The Bonnies finished in a tie for fourth place in the A-10 for the third consecutive year. In the midst of leading the Bonnies to a 21-win regular season, senior Dana Mitchell and sophomore Megan Van Tatenhove received All-Conference honors. Mitchell was named to the All-Conference first team and Academic All-Conference team, while Van Tatenhove was selected as All-Conference honorable mention.

The Colonials enter the WNIT carrying a 23-8 mark and having won 13 of their last 14 games and 17 of their last 19. Robert Morris has now made a national tournament appearance in each of the past four seasons. RMU earned NCAA Tournament berths in 2007 and 2008 and a Preseason WNIT invitation last year.

Tickets for the Brown and White's WNIT first round game against Robert Morris on Thursday, March 18, at the Reilly Center are available through the St. Bonaventure ticket office at (716) 375-2500. Tickets will be $8 for adults, $5 for SBU students and children between the ages of 7-15 and free for all children under the age of six. Tickets can also be purchased through Tickets.com.
