ORCHARD PARK, NY – (Bills Media Release) The Buffalo Bills today announced that the team has signed free agent OL Cornell Green. In accordance with team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Head Coach Chan Gailey said, “Obviously we wanted to address the tackle position either in free agency or the draft or both. It was great to find a quality player like Cornell Green in free agency that fit our team and we’re looking forward to having him with us.”
Green spent the last three seasons (2007-09) with the Oakland Raiders where he started all 38 games he played. The 6-6, 315-pound Central Florida product will enter his 12th NFL season in 2010. He spent two years with the New York Jets (2000-01), before stints with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2002-03), Denver Broncos (2004-05) and another year in Tampa (2006). Green originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with Atlanta in 1999.
Green, a native of St. Petersburg, Fla., has appeared in 89 games with 46 starts.
