For the second straight game the Sabres needed overtime for a win. Buffalo edged the New York Rangers on Sunday, in New York City, 2-1 in OT.
Adam Mair scored to give the Sabres a 1-0 lead with about six minutes left in regulation.
Brandon Dubinsky evened the score with a power play goal with 1:23 left in regulation.
Patrick Kaleta provided the heroics in overtime. Kaleta tallied the game-winner as he banked the puck of Rangers goalie Henrik Lundqvist.
Ryan Miller made 35 saves. Lundqvist stopped 30 shots.
The Sabres host the Dallas Stars on Wednesday.
