The Buffalo Sabres fell to the Ottawa Senators on Saturday night by the final score of 5-3. The Sabres have now lost three straight games.

Thomas Vanek opened the scoring with 52 seconds left in the first period, as he notched his seventh goal of the season.

However, the Senators scored five unanswered goals as Filip Kuba, Daniel Alfredsson, Chris Kelly, and Milan Michalek beat Patick Lalime. Alfredsson scored Ottawa's second and fifth goals.

Patrick Kaleta and Jason Pominville charged Buffalo in the third as they both scored to pull the Sabres within two goals.

The Sabres are off until Wednesday, when they visit the Washington Capitals.
