Buffalo - The Sabres have called up goaltender Jhonas Enroth from Portland to serve as depth because of an injury to back-up Patrick Lalime. Lalime suffered a groin injury during practice on Monday, and the Sabres aren't taking any chances. "You never know with groins. We hope it's not long. Depends on how it responds. If by the weekend Patty isn't ready to play there is a good chance Jhonas will", said Sabres head coach Lindy Ruff on Wednesday. Enroth had a 3-7 record this season with the Portland Pirates.
