BUFFALO, NY - (Canisius Media Release) - Canisius College senior goalkeeper Daniella Pettinari (Hilton, N.Y.) was named the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference’s co-Defensive Player of the Week, the league office announced Monday.

Pettinari helped the Golden Griffins snap their two-game losing skid with a 1-0 shutout win at Siena Oct. 18. The Hilton, N.Y. native was credited with five saves as the host Saints took a total 23 shots during the contest. For the season, Pettinari boasts a 3-1-1 record with two shutouts and a 1.13 goals against average in five starts. This marks the second time in her career she’s been named the league’s Defensive Player of the Week, having also earned the award in 2008 following back-to-back shutouts of Marist and Siena.
