Channel 7 was the the first Buffalo station to talk to the newest Sabres defenseman.

"To be able to play for a competitive hockey club, and continuously competitive hockey club, in a good hockey market with passionate fans, all that good stuff is wonderful," said the 29-year-old Montador. "I like to consider myself a hard worker, a competitive player, someone who will compete every night. I'll stick up for my teammates."

Montador is a 7-year-veteran who is from the Toronto area. He says that played a part in his decision to come to Buffalo.
