Two days after the Buffalo Bandits ended their season, their head coach/general manager is evaluating his role with the team going forward.

Darris Kilgour told Eyewitness Sports Anchor Shawn Stepner it might be time for a change within the National Lacrosse League franchise.

"I'd love to come back, at the same time, GM/coach is a very tough job," said Kilgour. "It's hard to make decisions as GM when you're the coach too. As a coach I'm loyal to this guy. At the same time as GM I might say 'this guy has more talent' or whatever. So, it's been tough wearing those two hats."

Kilgour recently completed his seventh season as head coach. He has held the dual role of coach and general manager for the past four seasons.

"I know at some point in time, it happens to every coach who has been at a place for a long time, the players quit listening. It's not that they don't want to listen. It's that they've heard everything I've had to say," said Kilgour. "I've been here for seven years now and I'm a pretty vocal guy. I'm sure at some point it's going to wear on them."

Kilgour lead his team to an 11-7 record in 2009. The Bandits were eliminated in the NLL East Division Final, losing 9-3 to the New York Titans.

"I'll evaluate myself. Hopfully I can do that honestly, which you can never really do for yourself. I'll take a look and maybe pass off one of the hats, the coaching or the GM hat, and maybe bring some new blood in here. I really think it's time, not only for new blood in the coaching staff, but there's time for new blood on the floor too."

Kilgour said he has no immediate plans on leaving one of the most successfull indoor lacrosse clubs in history.

"If I go back and evaluate the season, and I think that my message wasn't getting across, either I have to change my message or I have to change where the message is coming from. I'll make that decision a little bit later. I have been here a long time. I don't want to hurt the team. I want to be a positive influence on the team. If I ever think I'm not then that would be a time that I would step away. At this time, right now, I have no plans on doing that. We will evaluate it over the offseason and make a decision later."
