Bisons Start Homestand With Win

July 9, 2010 Updated Jul 8, 2010 at 2:28 PM EST

The Buffalo Bisons got their eight-game homestand off to a good start Tuesday with a come-from-behind, 6-5 win over Pawtucket Tuesday night. The Paw Sox jumped out to a 4-0 lead, but Jason Cooper helped the comeback with a solo homer in the sixth that closed the gap to two. Pawtucket still led 5-3 into the 8th, but Ryan Mulhern tied things up with a double past diving CF Jason Van Every that scored two. A sacrifice fly by Josh Barfield would plate the winning run later that inning.

The homestand continues Wednesday night when the same two teams continue their four-game set at 7:05pm. Thursday afternoon, 2005 American League Cy Young Award winner Bartolo Colon is scheduled to take the mound for the Paw Sox.
