History:
Mr. Taylor was born in Rushford, NY 80 years ago to the late Silas C. and Stacia Luce Taylor. He retired in 1992 from the Elba Central School and prior to that he worked at GTE Sylvania in Batavia. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. Prior to moving to Elba in 1964 he was a member of the United Methodist Church in Rushford and the Masons of Rushford. He enjoyed tractor restoring and after his retirement he raised beef cows and spent time in Florida. He loved to hunt and be with his family.
Survived By:
He is survived by his wife Janet L. Slocum Taylor of Elba, four daughters Rebecca (Donald) Kelly of LeRoy, Cindy (Eric) Wilsey of Marshall, VA, Michele Shaffer of Elba and Jill (Dino) D'Angelo of Buffalo. A brother Theodore Taylor of Rushford, a sister Shirley Adams of Michigan, 9 grandcildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews also survive. He was the father of the late Lisa Taylor.

Friends may call on Friday November 6, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9PM at the Funeral Home
Services:
Funeral services will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday November 7, 2009 at 2:00 PM with the Rev. Harold Coller officiating.
Burial:
Maple Lawn Cemetery in Elba, New York

The family suggests memorials to the Elba Rescue Squad or to Lake Plains Dialysis in Batavia.
