A Business First analysis of data from the Federal Bureau of Investigations shows that in 2015 Niagara Falls had the worst violent -crime rate per capita in the State of New York.

Last year Niagara Falls Police handled three cases of murder or manslaughter, 32 rapes, and 156 robberies. Block Club Member, Norma Higgs say she believes police are doing a great job to fight crime. But there is just too much poverty, drugs, and not enough for young people to do in Niagara Falls.

"It's just a constant struggle to try to find the path to keep these people on the right path," Higgs said.

According to the Business First analysis, the Queen City is right behind The Falls at number two. Last year, Buffalo had 41 cases of murder or manslaughter, 173 rapes, and more than a thousand robberies. But Police Spokesperson, Michael DeGeorge stresses this ranking is from business first, not the FBI.

He said overall crime has decreased in Buffalo by 32% since the beginning of 2006.  In 2015 the city recorded it's lowest number of reported crimes for one year its history. DeGeorge said Buffalo Police will continue to work closely with residents to reduce crime even further and keep neighborhoods safe.
