Williamsville Deputy Mayor Christopher DuQuin will be on an indefinite leave of absence from his role with the town, following DWI charges he incurred earlier this month.

Williamsville Mayor Brian Kulpa announced Monday evening that he had approved DuQuin's request for the leave, effective immediately.

Amherst Police said DuQuin was intoxicated when he hit a parked car on North Ellicott Street in the Village of Willliamsville and then left the scene. It happened around 2 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, September 17.

Police said they followed a trail of fluid from the accident site to DuQuin's garage.

In addition to DWI charges, the co-owner of Steven's Driving School is charged with leaving the scene of an accident and moving from a lane unsafely.

Mayor Kulpa appointed town Trustee Daniel Delano to serve as Williamsville's Deputy Mayor through the end of the official village year.
