Where WNY Universities rank on US News "Best Colleges" list

Local Universities are getting graded in the latest round of U.S. News and World Report's list of Best Colleges.

 

NATIONAL UNIVERSITY RANKINGS

The University at Buffalo ranked 97th overall in the "National Universities" category and and 41st in the rankings of "Top Public Schools." According to the school, it's it highest rankings ever, up two places from last year. It's the third straight year UB has been ranked in the top-100 nationally.

Nearby University of Rochester earned top marks for National Universities in Western New York, ranking 34th overall and 24th in the "Best Value Schools" category. The Rochester Institute of Technology tied UB at 97th. St. John Fisher College in Rochester ranked 145th overall. 

Those are the only schools in Western New York that are considered "National Universities" by US News.

REGIONAL UNIVERSITIES NORTH RANKINGS

Both St. Bonaventure University and Canisius College ranked in the top 25 of the report's "Regional Universities North" category, coming in at 21st and 22nd respectively. St. Bonaventure was also ranked as the 5th best value school in the north, Canisius was ranked 9th.
