Among the sea of faces, standing under a drizzling rain, hundreds of thousands gathered to watch an historic transfer of power, many from Western New York.

Stacey Klimczak of Chaffee made a nearly 400 mile trek the Nation's Capitol, and even without a ticket was able to snag a spot to watch history unfold.

"They had big screens for the inauguration," Klimsczak told 7 Eyewitness News.

Another visitor from Western New York, Bob Brennan, also made the journey.

"For the most part I think the experience was very positive and upbeat."

Most weekends you can find Brennan leading bus tours around Niagara Falls, but Thursday he led a group of 30 to Washington.

Brennan said this isn't his first presidential rodeo, he was on hand for the inauguration of former Barack Obama. He said like the 2009 event, there was no shortage of security -- police, military and federal agents.
