NIAGARA FALLS, N.Y. ( WKBW ) Daredevil Nik Wallenda is ready to make his stunt walk across Niagara Falls.
The official date is Friday June 15th. He made that announcement with New York state lawmakers George Maziarz and John Ceretto at a Wednesday morning news conference in the Falls.
Wallenda commented that he wants to let the public witness his practice walks from the nearby Seneca Niagara Casino.
Weather may play a factor in which direction Wallenda walks - either from New York to Canada, or in the other direction.
He commented that every newspaper and television screen will have an image of this historic stunt, bringing untold promotional value to Niagara Falls.
A network deal to broadcast the stunt internationally has yet to be signed.
ABC-TV's "Good Morning America" was expected to broadcast LIVE from the Falls Wednesday morning, but that has been postponed due to what the network calls "contractual issues." GMA may broadcast with Wallenda on another day.
