Roll up your sleeves and grab a toolbox Western New York! The Hamburg Community Playground Project is asking for your help in building a community designed $500,000 playground.
There will be four building dates. Skilled builders are needed Friday, April 28th.Unskilled and skilled workers are needed on Saturday, April 29th, Friday, May 5th and Saturday, May 6th.
Skilled builders will be following directions to assemble large play structures, cutting and building a wooden seat wall and pouring concrete.
Unskilled builders will be spreading gravel and wood chips and assembling small playground equipment.
It took two years of planning and fundraising for the project to reach its goal. According to the Hamburg Community Playground, the current wooden playground located off of Highland Avenue has outlived its life expectancy.
