(Sanborn, NY) Hundreds of middle and high school students took part in the annual "Tech Wars" competition at Niagara County Community College.

It is the 15th year for the event.

The goal is to try get students to use math, science, and technology principles in real-life situations.

Over 26 Western New York school districts sent teams to this year's competition.

The most popular event is the robot wrestling, but students also compete in balsa wood bridge building, wind turbine design, and robot hockey.

Another round of Tech Wars will be held in May at Erie Community College.
