KENMORE N.Y. (WKBW) After an education career that has lasted more than 30 years, Jeanine Lampkin is retiring from her position as a special needs teacher for ERIE 1 BOCES.

Jeanine Lampkin spent the last 31 years working out of Kenmore East High School.

Under her guidance, special needs students focused on living in the "adult zone," and they did community service projects for Women and Children's Hospital.

"Our goal is to help the students become the most independent and be the most ready for the world as they can possibly be," commented Jeanine Lampkin.

As she packed up her classroom for the last time, several students, parents, and fellow teachers surprised her by showing up to wish her well.
