BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, the former Governor of Massachusetts, made a quick stop in Buffalo for a fundraising effort.
Romney landed at Prior aviation just after 3pm, and was then escorted by police and secret service to the private gathering in North Buffalo.
The candidate appeared at the Buffalo and Erie County Historical Society, where people paid $2500 to be part of the event.
Afterwards, Mitt Romney attended a $10,000 per plate dinner at the home of local businessman, and Romney upstate fundraising coordinator, Anthony Gioia.
It is estimated that Friday's fundraising efforts could raise close to a million dollars for the Romney campaign.
Organizers tell Eyewitness News that they are "honored" to have the Republican candidate in town, and response to the fundraisers "exceeded their expectations."
Mitt Romney's visit was short because the presidential candidate had fly out of Buffalo to attend a scheduled appearance in another part of the country.
