Buffalo, NY (WKBW) -- 49 year old Peter Vega pled not guilty to murdering his girlfriend today. Vega is accused of strangling 47 year old Lourdes Rodriguez at the Kelly Kourt Motor Inn on Sheridan Drive December 5th. He appeared in Supreme Court Justice Timothy Walker's courtroom this morning for his arraignment. The only time he spoke was when answering only "Yes, your honor" when asked if he understood his legal rights. Police told us that Vega was found at a home in Snyder with "self-inflicted illness" back on December 5th saying disturbing things about Rodriguez. That led authorities to her body in the apartment the couple shared. Vega is being held without bail. He faces 25 years to life in prison if convicted.
