If you're having a hard time getting over an ex, a new app has launched to help you eliminate their entire presence from your Facebook timeline.

KillSwitch removes traces of your ex from your Facebook profile.

It's a handy tool if you can't come to terms with deleting your ex as a friend. KillSwitch will help by removing all pictures, videos, wall posts, and status updates that your ex is tagged in.

The app had been created not as a vindictive tool, but as part of a healing process, assertion of independence, and getting closer to what's right for you after discovering what wasn't.

KillSwitch is basically the digital-age version of burning photo's post-breakup (which you can see in almost every romantic comedy).

And though it sounds harsh, the app has been launched for charity.

KillSwitch costs $0.99 in the Apple Store and Google Play and 20% of each sale will benefit the American Heart Association of New York.
