(Buffalo, N.Y.) On March 27th, 17-year old Tyjohn "Tyson" Taylor was shot to death while standing in a hallway at 170 Crowley Avenue in Buffalo's Riverside section.
On Monday, funeral services for the Buffalo teen were held at Bethel Tabernacle UHCA Church on Clinton Street in Buffalo.
A standing room only crowd was silently paying their respects when rumors of a gunman outside the church sent the mourners into a panicked frenzy.
Many people dashed for the door, others frantically called 911, as chaos and confusion swept through the crowd.
Several people moved to the far corner of the church when it became unclear if a gunman was entering the front door.
Outside, Buffalo Police had to break up several skirmishes - even putting two people in handcuffs.
Pastor Jeremiah Carter restored order only to see mayhem break out towards the end of the service when more rumors of a gun scared the bereaved crowd.
Buffalo police say they are investigating reports of shots fired about one-block from the church.
Police have arrested an 18-year old male and charged him with criminal possession of a weapon.
It is unclear if he is the same person who fired the gun during the funeral service.
According to the the funeral home handling the service, Tyjohn Taylor was laid to rest in Forest Lawn Cemetery without any further incident
