BUFFALO, NY (WKBW/RELEASE)-After the City of Buffalo was awarded 3 Brownfield Opportunity Area (BOA) grants from the New York State Department of State, the city has decided to host three BOA Open Houses this week. The three sites in Buffalo include the Buffalo Harbor, Buffalo River Corridor & the Tonawanda Street Corridor. According to officials, consultants working with the Mayor's Office of Strategic Planning will present preliminary development concepts for the Inner and Outer Harbors, Buffalo River Corridor, and Tonawanda Street Corridor and engage the community in a discussion of the long-term vision for these sites.
"We're trying to get a consensus out there for what they want to see," said Brendan Mehaffy, Executive Director of Strategic Planning for the city. "At the end of the day, it's going to be the public who will enjoy, live, and invest in the area."
