NIAGARA FALLS, NY (WKBW) - The City of Niagara Falls is looking to keep the positive momentum going following Nik Wallenda's high wire performance over the falls. Mayor Paul Dyster says there city is already experiencing a major economic boost.
"There's been an increase in hotel bookings," said Dyster. "We're up 30-40% compared to the numbers last year and this occurred right after the Wallenda Walk."
Old Falls Street is also expecting bigger crowds this summer while hosting free family friendly events throughout the summer. Organizers of Old Falls Street will be providing free music, fitness classes, kids activities, and host movie nights.
"We try to have something for everyone. We know that we're hosting people from other countries as well as people from our own backyards, so we have a little bit of everything," said Susan Swiatkowski of the Conference & Event Center Niagara Falls.
