Austin, TX (WKBW)- Early Sunday Morning, Deputies with the Hays County Sheriff's Office responded to a home on Wild Rose Drive in Hays County, near Austin, Texas. Police discovered two people inside with gunshot wounds. 40-year-old Lara Joseph was declared deceased on the scene. Her husband, 47-year-old Leonard Joseph was transported to the University Medical Center - Brackenridge for treatment. According to officials in Newstead, New York, Leonard Joseph was a volunteer firefighter with the Newstead Fire Company for close to 5 years before moving to Texas in 2009. Police are not commenting further, but said they are not looking for suspects at this time. No one else was inside the home at the time of the incident. As of Monday evening, the 47-year-old remains in the hospital, his condition is unknown at this hour.
