"This is probably the lowest our shelves have ever been since I started," Cheryl Lepsch, VA Hospital's Clothing Room Coordinator, said.

The Clothing Room gives clothes and other essential supplies to inpatient and outpatient veterans in need.

"Our goal is to make sure that for the winter we at least have sweatshirts or sweatpants when they leave here," Lepsch said.

The volunteers are asking for donations. They're looking for:

- Men's sweatshirts

- Men's sweatpants

- Men's long sleeve shirts and under shirts

- Women's sports bra's

- Shoes in all sizes

- Gloves

- Coats

- Gift cards

Volunteers say the Clothing Room only accepts new items and used clothes will not be accepted.

Last year, Lepsch says more than 300 coats were handed out.

Donations can be dropped off at the VA Hospital in room 302B Monday-Friday 7 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.

If you are interested in donating, call (716) 862-8667.
