UB names new director of athletics

The University at Buffalo named its new director of athletics Wednesday.

Mark Alnutt, deputy director of athletics at the University of Memphis is taking over the director role at UB.

Alnutt is a Kansas City native and a former Division I football player at the University of Missouri. He helped develop Memphis' $45 million NCAA Division I athletics program.

Alnutt's appointment is effective April 11. He succeeds Allen Greene, who accepted the AD position at Auburn University in January.
