The Town of Tonawanda Police closed the pedestrian footbridge over Sheridan Drive Friday after finding out that it could be unsafe.
Police say the Highway Superintendent and Town Engineer inspected the bridge and found several areas of concern.
The bridge spans Sheridan Drive between Delaware Avenue and Colvin Avenue. Police are asking pedestrians to go to the traffic signals at either Delaware or Colvin to cross the road.
