Tonawanda General Motors Engine Pant manufacturing essential components for Chevy Silverado

More than 600 jobs will be retained at the Tonawanda General Motors Engine Plant now that the plant will manufacture essential parts for Chevy's number one selling truck.

The plant will build 5.3L and 6.2L V-8 engines with Dynamic Fuel Management for the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado. This will be the most advanced gasoline V-8 engine in the brand's history.

"We are extremely proud to have been chosen to continue to build 5.3L's and 6.2L's for General Motors' best-selling pickup truck," says Tonawanda Engine Plant Director Ram Ramanujam. "It's a testament of the talented team and highly skilled workforce that we have."

This engine differs from active fuel management, which alternates between eight and four cylinder modes, by creating 17 cylinder patterns.
