Only 48 hours until the big move from the old Buffalo Women and Children's Hospital to the new John Oishei Children's Hospital.

It's a bittersweet moment for 1,500 doctors, nurses, and staff on Bryant Street.

Hundreds of hours went into training and planning the move of around 150 patients into this 185 bed hospital. In fact, they've practiced this move 12 times, even with worst case scenarios.

Fifteen ambulances will take patients to the new building. Both hospitals will remain fully staffed until the last mother or child leaves Bryant Street. Friday's move could take at least 24 hours. Costing $300,000 and Keybank is footing the bill.

Mothers or children with emergencies are urged to go to the new children's hospital on Ellicott starting Friday at 7am.

Others should avoid using routes including streets like Bryant, Utica, Michigan, Elmwood, and Main.
