It's a great time of the year to be in the bird business, unless you are the bird. Wendel's Poultry Farm in East Concord is celebrating 71 years. They raise chickens year round but this time of year it's all about the turkeys. Dave and Marty are third generation poultry farmers and they carry on a tradition started by their grandfather.

According to Marty, the reason the Wendel's birds are so special "these turkeys are all grain fed, no hormones, just the way Grandpa used to do it." It takes longer and costs more to do that, but Marty say's it's worth it. "My customers say they are juicer"

You might think that by Thanksgiving Marty & Dave would be sick of looking at turkeys, but you would be wrong. Marty says "it's a nice meal, a tradition we always look forward to. A Celebration after all of our hard work.

Wendel's has 1200 turkeys available for Thanksgiving and more for Christmas. You can find more information at their website.
