Some future hockey stars hit the ice at the Northtown Center in Amherst this past weekend, and scored some major victories in the process.

Congratulations to the Buffalo Jr. Sabres Youth Hockey Organization. Two of its teams won the USA Hockey New York State Amateur Hockey Association Championships.

The Jr. Sabres 18U team won their second straight NYSAHA championship, beating the Long Island Gulls 6-2 in the championship game. The team now advances to the USA Hockey 18U National Championships in San Jose, California.

The Bantam Major 14U capped off their tournament with a 4-0 victory over the Syracuse Nationals. The Jr. Sabres 14U team will now head to Anchorage, Alaska to compete in the USA Hockey National Championships.

The New York State Girls Tier 1 championships were also held this past weekend at the Northtown Center.

Congratulations to both the Bisons U16 team and the Niagara Purple Eagles U19 team. The clubs are now heading to the Girls Tier 1 USA hockey nationals in Minneapolis Minnesota later this month.

Best of luck to everyone taking part, we'll be cheering you on back here in Buffalo!
