"Stranger Danger" alert issued in Town of Tonawanda

Town of Tonawanda Police have issued a "Stranger Danger" alert after a middle school student reported she was approached by an unknown male.

The Benjamin Franklin Middle school student told police and KenTon school officials a man approached her on her way to school around 7:40 a.m. on Lincoln Park Drive and Claremont Avenue.

The student provided this description of the man:

  • White male in his twenties
  • Tall with a lean build and brown hair
  • Wearing cargo shorts, a greyish/black t-shirt, and sneakers
  • Driving a black van (possible Dodge Caravan) with tinted windows.   

According to the student, the man rolled down his window and asked her to get in the car. She refused and ran to school after the man stepped outside his vehicle. The student was not harmed and Benjamin Franklin school officials contacted her family.
