"Snowvember Storm" still causing mail problems

One week after the "Snowvember Storm" began to devastate parts of Western New York with seven feet of snow, many residents in the South Towns are still feeling the effects - especially lack of mail delivery.

A spokesperson for the US Postal Service says processing of mail is now caught up but delivery is still behind.

A big problem is missing, damaged, or inaccessible mail boxes.

The post office will not leave mail unless it has a receptacle to place it in.

Residents with storm-damaged mail boxes, or missing mail boxes, are advised to have the mail held at their local branch where it can be picked up by customers until repairs are made.

Arrangements can be made in person, by phone at 1-800-ASK-USPS, or on the internet at www.usps.com.
