Erie County, N.Y. (WKBW) - Several drivers and resident report being shot at by a man who apparently was driving through several communities firing off a rifle.
Eric Easton, 28, went on a shooting spree in at least three counties this week. This all started late Tuesday night in the small community of Basom, near Alabama in Genesee County. From there, deputies said he began driving toward the Tonawanda Indian Reservation, shooting his rifle out the window of his pick-up truck and hitting several cars on the road. He also was allegedly shooting bullets into a home where people were inside.
Deputies from Niagara, Genesee and Erie Counties were all called in. The firing spree came to an end in the Town of Newstead where Erie County deputies eventually arrested Easton.
He is not in custody in Genesee County facing charges of Drunk Driving and Reckless Endangerment. Luckily, there were no injuries reported but several homes and cars were damaged.
