BUFFALO, N.Y. ( WKBW ) A Canadian man is accused of smuggling a dangerous predator into Western New York.

That predator is called the "Snakehead Fish," as seen in a recent Animal Planet video.

Federal authorities set up an undercover sting, allegedly sellilng the fish to agents.

The fish are dangerous because they can decimate fish populations in local waterways.

Jeremy Wade from Animal Planet explains, "Have a look inside the mouth. You're looking into the mouth of a predator. Look at those teeth, they eat things like frogs, but also things like lizards, rats, and small dogs."

Ip faces a one year prison sentence, and $5,000 dollars in fines. There is no word if the fish has been found in any local waterways as of yet.
