Wednesday marked a special and unique event for the Olean community.

Titled, a Drag Queen Kids' Party, Flo Leeta, a drag queen, read a selection of positive, age-appropriate children's books as part of Pride Month at the Olean Public Library.

At first, some in the community were divided over the plan, with some threatening to protest, or even cut up their library cards. But those protestors were small in number.

Instead, hundreds packed the library on Wednesday to show their support for Flo Leeta and members of LGBTQ community.

Flo Leeta says her aim is to educate parents and kids about always being proud of who you are.
