The New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) today announced that highway milling and paving is scheduled to begin on Monday, August 5, on Bailey Avenue (US Route 62) and Grover Cleveland - Millersport Highway (NY Route 263) in the town of Amherst, Erie County.
As a result, motorists should expect to encounter daily lanes closures from 7:00 a.m. until 3:30 p.m. on US Route 62, between NY Route 5 and NY Route 263, and also on NY Route 263, between US Route 62 and NY Route 324 (Sheridan Drive).
This work is expected to be completed in approximately four weeks, but will be delayed in the event of inclement weather.
Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
