ALBANY, NY (WKBW/DOT) - The New York State Thruway Authority today announced the southbound Smith Street on-ramp to I-190 (Niagara Thruway) will be closed briefly for repairs on both Thursday, July 22, and Friday, July 23, while Thruway maintenance crews work on the bridge at the top of the ramp.
The Smith Street on-ramp will be closed Thursday, July, 22, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and again on Friday, July 23 from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
Detour signs will direct motorists to enter I-190 southbound from the Clinton Street on-Ramp.
The Authority appreciates motorists' patience and understanding while this necessary work is performed.
Variable Message Signs (VMS) and Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) 1610 AM will be activated to notify motorists of the lane closures and any resulting delays.
The temporary closure of the southbound Smith Street on-ramp is part of an ongoing re-pavement project and bridge maintenance work along the Niagara Section of the New York State Thruway.
