The New York State Senate passed legislation today that could speed up access to ridesharing services in Western New York by 10 days.

The bill introduced by State Senator Mike Razenhofer would expedite ridesharing services like Uber and Lfyt in time for the Fourth of the July holiday weekend.

“I am pleased to report that the State Senate approved my bill to bring ride-sharing services to Western New York in time for the Fourth of July,” said Senator Razenhofer. “Accelerating this safe, reliable transportation option will make our roads safer and save lives during one of the busiest travel times of the year.”

The legislation heads to the State Assembly next for review.
