Reward offered in unsolved murder of transgender woman

A reward of up to $4,000 is now being offered for information leading to the arrest of a transgender woman murdered in Buffalo. 

Tonya Harvey, 35, was shot and killedFebruary 6th on Shepard Street. It was the first homicide of 2018 in Buffalo. 

Anyone with information can call Crime Stoppers Buffalo at 867-6161 or can submit a tip by downloading the Crime Stoppers app.

"The D.A.'s Office is also extremely concerned about a spike in homicides of transgender people across the country and will be, as part of this investigation, looking into whether or not this is a potential hate crime," Erie County District Attorney John Flynn said at the time of the murder.
