After a number of demonstrations where protestors demanded Congressman Chris Collins hold a Town Hall meeting, the western New York representative is announcing he will appear on a televised Town Hall series.
A spokesperson for the Congressman sent 7 Eyewitness News the following statement:
“CNN reached out with this unique opportunity. Congressman Collins saw it as an excellent venue to discuss the very important issues facing all Americans in a substantive manner. Additionally, this will provide everyone in NY-27 the opportunity to hear where Congressman Collins stands on the issues important to Western New York. Hardworking families won't need to take time off to attend. They can simply turn on their televisions to CNN Thursday at 9pm.”
Rep. Collins has said in the pasthe's never held a town hall meeting and doesn't plan to because he believes there are better ways to communicate.
